WE ARE SEEKING A HIGHLY ORGANIZED AND DETAIL-ORIENTED COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST TO JOIN OUR GROWING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.

The Compliance Specialist will work closely with the Operations or Project Management teams to ensure that the company adheres to all relevant licensing and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will be the go-to source ensuring we stay fully licensed and compliant across multiple states and have experience with software solutions designed to manage the procurement, renewal, and maintenance of various licenses and registrations across multiple states.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 per year, depending upon experience.
After a training and settling-in period, the position can qualify for a remote-hybrid schedule.
Chosen candidate will live within a commutable distance of our office.
Relocation benefits are not offered for this position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Procure, renew, and maintain various business licenses, professional licenses, certifications, registrations and permits for multi-state operations.
  • Handle sensitive and classified company information daily, ensuring its confidentiality and integrity.
  • Through regulatory research, ensure all operations, products, and activities align with relevant regulations, statutes, and company policies.
  • Ensure timely renewal of all licenses and registrations to avoid any operational disruptions.
  • Utilize automated tax compliance software to manage sales tax, VAT, GST, and other tax calculations.
  • Communicate compliance requirements to relevant managers, provide training, and address inquiries about compliance matters.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, prepare documentation, and respond to compliance-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all licensing and compliance activities.
  • Proven experience with license and registration software (e.g., LicenseHQ, GovPilot, MyGov, Newland).
  • Strong understanding of state-specific licensing requirements for the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with tax compliance software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, TaxJar).
  • Strong understanding of sales tax, VAT, GST, and other tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in integrating tax software with various business systems.
  • Excellent research, analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • A meticulous approach to record-keeping and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Ability to identify and resolve compliance issues effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with leadership, including regulators, internal teams, and external vendors.
