Description

The Compliance Specialist will complete assignments to support the university’s compliance with various federal and state laws and regulations, accrediting agencies, and institutional policies and processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related areas
  • Minimum four years of experience working in a Higher Education environment
  • Ability to develop strong business relationships with all levels of personnel up to upper-level management
  • Keep proprietary information confidential
  • Ability to manage several tasks at one time. Placing close attention to priority objectives and time management
  • Ability to be accurate, efficient, and capable of handling detailed work assignments
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with MS Office and advanced Internet search
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
  • Strong work ethic and driven by rules and regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical and legal documents
Responsibilities
  • Accurately maintains and updates compliance documents
  • Accurately compiles data, information, presentations, and reports
  • Contacts other personnel and departments to obtain documentation and information
  • Follows up with other departments as needed
  • Proofreads documents for accuracy and edits as necessary
  • Reviews materials for compliance with oversight agencies and internal standards
  • Compiles regulatory applications, submissions, and internal documentation
  • Completes assignments in accordance with internal and external deadlines
  • Uses moderate to advanced capabilities to work with MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and other software to produce and revise complicated documents
  • Translates compliance documents as needed (Spanish/English)
  • Properly retains regulatory and internal records
  • Provides support to Compliance Department personnel
  • Coordinates travel arrangements, meetings, and calendars for compliance personnel
  • Completes purchasing and payment requests
  • Is self-directed and initiates opportunities for professional development and expanding knowledge and skills in compliance-related work
  • Acts with discretion and maintains confidentiality
