The State of Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) is looking for a Compliance Specialist (Office Specialist II). You will work with the Division's licensees who are on probation helping to ensure they are fulfilling all requirements in their probation. **This position is NOT eligible for full-time telework. Training will take place in the office for up to 12 weeks; if eligibility requirements are met, teleworking up to 3 days/per week may be available; two days are required in the office. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm, but flexibility may be available.** Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position: Preparing and processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships. Presenting to boards and committees. Working closely with compliance manager, bureau manager, attorney general's office, and boards. Reviewing cases, applications, files, records, etc., to determine the action to be taken. Writing or drafting correspondence, reports, documents, and/or other written materials. Retrieving data found in databases to generate requested reports. Maintaining and/or creating files or record-keeping systems. Sorts, labels, files and retrieves documents, or other materials. Recommending additional disciplinary action for non-compliant licensees. The Ideal Candidate Our model candidate will have: Exceptional record keeping and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Prior experience presenting to government entities or other management-level audiences. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Ability to write reports and utilize Microsoft computer programs including Word and Excel. Ability to organize tasks and follow instructions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Experience working in an office setting. Experience answering phone calls and emails. Experience communicating with people regarding complex issues. Ability to work within a team and solve problems.
