Adecco is currently seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Specialist - Privacy & AML to join our client’s team in Pickering, ON. This 12-month hybrid contract role offers a competitive salary of up to $95,000 annually and provides an excellent opportunity to support privacy and anti-money laundering compliance within a dynamic and regulated environment.

  • Pay rate: up to $95k/year.
  • Location: Pickering, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 12-month contract | Full-time

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in privacy and/or AML compliance, ideally within financial services.
  • Solid knowledge of Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25).
  • Understanding of AML/ATF legislation, sanctions requirements, and FINTRAC guidelines.
  • Experience in developing or contributing to privacy protection strategies and compliance programs.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with Canadian privacy laws, including PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to evaluate how personal information is managed across business units.
  • Advise teams on data protection strategies and privacy best practices.
  • Review and assess new systems and business processes to ensure compliance with applicable privacy legislation and industry standards.
  • Support or facilitate regulatory and customer inspections across the business.
  • Proactively maintain and update privacy policies, procedures, and training programs in line with evolving regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify compliance gaps and implement necessary updates.
  • Promote awareness through engaging and up-to-date privacy training initiatives.
  • Respond to data subject access requests accurately and within legal timelines.
  • Monitor transactions and customer activities for suspicious or unusual behavior.
  • Investigate anomalies and report qualifying transactions to FINTRAC according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain and improve AML/ATF policies and procedures in accordance with current legal and industry standards.
  • Establish and enforce customer identification and due diligence protocols to support risk management and compliance efforts.
