Description
  Role: Responsible for ensuring that the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with relevant laws and regulations. Analyzes new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union's current practices. Identify, investigate and report compliance issues, irregularities and violations. Assist in developing and revising current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensures all affected areas of the Credit Union are kept  informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time. Knowledge and Skills: Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills  Good Communication Skills. The ability to work in a confidential environment. The ability to work independently. Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software; must be able to operate a PC and all types of general office equipment. The ability to operate specialized computer software relevant to the job
Responsibilities
Ensures Credit Union policies and procedures comply with relevant laws and regulations through analysis and investigation. Responsible for reporting compliance violations and updating policies to reflect changing legal requirements.
