ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Veterinary Quality Assurance Lead, this role sits at the front of compliance standards within the veterinary team with responsibility for delivering excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance. It will work closely with the Prescription and Customer Service teams.
- Ensuring PDOL compliance with VMD requirements and guidelines on prescribing and supplying POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicine distribution categories.
- Ensuring compliance with prescription alteration and fraud identification and reporting.
- Ensuring correct processing, management, and storage of controlled drug prescriptions to support the business to remain compliant.
- Supporting the veterinary team with POM-V order error identification.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance
- Meet VMD standards for prescribing and supplying POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicine distribution categories.
- Perform daily checks of all customer orders of POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines (including Amazon orders) and contact customers for further information as required.
- Ensure safe prescription and supply of POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines.
- Support the veterinary team with managing the POM-V checking process as required.
- Work with the Prescription Team Leaders to identify altered and fraudulent prescriptions.
- Report customers who have submitted altered or fraudulent prescriptions to the VMD via the online reporting system.
Work with the Prescription Team Leaders and the Veterinary QA Lead to ensure correct processing, management, and storage of controlled drug prescriptions.
- Ensure prescriptions are completed correctly and any additions or alterations are signed off by a veterinary surgeon.
- Ensure all controlled drug prescriptions are correctly stamped once fulfilled and appropriately filed.
- Manage safe storage and subsequent disposal of controlled drug prescriptions as per RCVS guidelines.
Administration and reporting
- Work with the Veterinary QA Lead to prepare reports related to POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines, fraud monitoring, and controlled drug management.
- Work with the Senior Operations Training Officer to produce business briefings and training materials when knowledge gaps are identified.
- Ensure all records relating to prescription and supply of POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines are maintained.
- Support the veterinary team with reports to external bodies.
The role is 40 hours per week, Monday – Sunday and will be based on site at our Keynsham offices. The working hours for this role are a weekly alternating shift pattern, working 08.00am - 16.30pm and 08.45am - 17.15pm.
