Description SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for performing under limited supervision in the assembly of ground support equipment. This position will also be providing instructional lead to assembly workers pertaining to the assembly of dashes in towing tractors by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Assemble component assemblies for individual sale or installation into production tractors Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of associated equipment Prepares and maintains records and reports Use current methods, materials, tools and techniques for vehicle repair and maintenance Knowledge of Paint and body work Knowledge of mechanical design and fabrication, electrical systems including computerized induction/ignition systems Use of power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment as available Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Follow safety practices and procedures Perform other duties and functions as required Requirements POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (The minimal acceptable level of education, experience, and certifications necessary for employment). High School Diploma or GED Prior knowledge and understanding of common automotive/mechanical concepts Ability to solve problems and think outside of the box in performance of duties Ability to read blueprints and diagrams Ability and willingness to cross-train and work in multiple roles PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT (The physical attributes employees must have in order to perform job duties; unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation. Physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
