BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, OR
  • Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, OR
  • JD/PhD in Mechanical or aerospace Engineering

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design on gas turbine engines, OR
  • Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with 4+ years of experience in mechanical design on gas turbine engines, OR
  • JD/PhD in Mechanical or aerospace Engineering with a Dissertation/Research topic focused on gas turbine design
Responsibilities
  • Develop new Component designs and design changes for high-performance gas turbine hardware and systems, which includes (but is not limited to) creating design concepts, optimizing concepts to a final definition, preparing technical presentations and documents, performing multiple analyses, supporting creation of drawings, delivering hardware for validation, and release of hardware to production.
  • Perform analyses for gas turbine hardware and systems to substantiate suitability for new engine applications, extended performance of existing engines, and interface requirements.
  • Present and defend design solutions and technical work to program leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Support the supply chain in procuring hardware including review of supplier documentation, assessment of non-conforming hardware, and review of supplier change proposals.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, service, and aftermarket issues promptly as they arise to keep production on target and the fleet in operation
  • Lead investigations of in-service and/or development hardware issues including failure analysis, root cause / corrective action (RCCA), reporting, and documentation. Share findings with the global turbomachinery team in accordance with export control regulations.
  • Lead a team of high performing engineers within the group to deliver an engineering solution and meet project timelines and requirements
  • Be a point of contact within the group for cross-functional disciplines as you work together to deliver a solution
