Description
Technical management of components. Maintaining a database of components that support Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company products worldwide (creating new items, changing existing items, documentation, understanding environmental compliance and setting system attributes). The integration of parts from acquired companies into the database is performed on an as needed basis. Actively monitor component life cycle status and acting on discontinued parts using detailed work instructions and finding replacement parts. Technical interface between Pacific Scientific Energetic Materials Company external PCB suppliers and the internal Product Development Teams, PCB Designers, PCA Engineering, Procurement and Production Support Engineers. Understand PCB suppliers' manufacturing capabilities and cost drivers and match them to product or design needs at minimal cost. Coordinate the qualification for changes in manufacturers, materials or processes and inspect first article samples. Periodic supplier visits to monitor quality systems, processes control and capabilities. A solid understanding of printed circuit board fabrication processes, equipment and quality standards is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related physical sciences with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a component engineer or equivalent in education and work experience. Strong technical background and experience in Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical engineering fields. Possess the ability interact with and be a strong consultant to engineering teams throughout the company. Ability to be a mentor and resource to less experienced or non-technical colleagues. Fluent in English (oral and written)
