Description
Component Engineering position in product development team responsible for creating high value energy storage/power electronics products for customers worldwide. Essential Functions: 1. Structuring and creating “Bill of Material” (BOM) for the product designed under PMP Program. 2. Provide the required data to the buyer for procuring the parts for Engineering Proto, alpha Build and pilot production 3. Responsible for loading the Bill of Material (BOMs) in Oracle for all the PMP Programs. 4. Responsible for BOM costing done for all the PMP Projects. 5. Responsible for making changes in Oracle during & after the new project design for R&D India. 6. Generation of ECO and ECN for Design, Test and Component changes. Ensure that all the ECO’s and ECN are implemented. 7. Creation of new parts numbers for all the Electrical components used in the PMP projects in PDM 8. Responsible for Part qualification process of new electrical and/or magnetic components for PMP programs. Includes PQR Approval and the Part Spec approval in the database for the new parts. 9. Ensure all the parts are Controlled Release for the Pilot production of New Products. 10. Driving Component sourcing from the vendors around the world for R&D India. 11. Identify and develop secondary sources of electrical components for PMP programs. 12. Development and maintenance of professional relationships with various manufacturers. 13. Assist in new vendor qualification process. 14. Act as a Technical Liaison between R&D and Factory during New Product Release & product transfers to ensure the products are released for manufacturing in APC facilities worldwide. 15. Lead the Component Engineering function for Internal and External ISO audits. 16. Train the team on the existing and upcoming processes. 17. To regularly interact with the Global commodity teams and actively participating in the negotiations of the new parts used in the PMP. 18. Guide the support functions with the processes involved in the PMP. 19. Responsible for the key project deliverables. 20. Support the DFM/DFA discussions with the project team. 21. Support Regulatory team by finding relevant file details from agencies 22. Interact and coordinate, share the efforts with in the Project team 23. Document and present and manage all the communications associated with in the scope of his/her responsibility. 24. Responsible for development of QMS Secondary Functions: 1. Support procurement function as necessary 2. Support manufacturing in component procurement in case of non-availability for new product build Domain Skills: • Good understanding of documentation procedures • Experience in Component Engineering activities Knowledge of various Li-ion cell vendors and cell types; • Knowledge of Electronic components such as Active, Passive & Magnetic parts. • Knowledge of Desktop applications – MS office packages • Proficiency in MS Excel. • Knowledge of various commodities & component distributors. • Knowledge of ERP system • Qualification of Electronics Parts Diploma/B.E./B.Tech with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
