Position Title: Composite Designer
Location(s): Wooster, Ohio (HQ), Clearfield, UT or Remote

· Create 3D models, assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements.

  • Create 3D models, surface geometry, assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements.
  • Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests and milestone completions
  • Track project progress against allocated hours using sources available to ensure project initiatives are met
  • Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budge

Experience:

  • Minimum of (3) years’ experience utilizing CATIA V5 CPD or NX Fibersim
  • Mechanical Design/Drafting experience is required.
  • Experience with Aerospace structures and component design is a plu

Education / Training:

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science or equivalent required experience is require

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves the ability to support a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for developing composite flat patterns and layups, creating accurate 3D models and technical drawings, supporting fiber placement and laser projection processes, and overseeing project tasks, schedules, and customer communication.

ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES:

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive:

  • Composite Manufacturing Layup Design, Producibility, Flat Pattern and laser projection development

· Create 3D models, assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements.

  • Create 3D models, surface geometry, assemblies according to project specific inputs and requirements.
  • Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests and milestone completions
  • Track project progress against allocated hours using sources available to ensure project initiatives are met
  • Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget

Experience:

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

· Due to the nature of this work and access to controlled technical data, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident of the United States or have obtained a dual citizenship in compliance with U.S. export control regulations. No sponsorship is available at this time.

  • Composite manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Experience with Siemens NX or CATIA V5 software is preferred
  • Experience with Siemens NX Fibersim or CATIA V5 CPD composites design software is required
  • Experience with laser projection is a plus
  • Experience with providing manufacturing floor support is a plus
  • Ability to check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit and function, correctness and completeness of information
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude, good reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Data Management and Configuration Management principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision

Education / Training:

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science or equivalent required experience is required
