Due to our growth, we have an immediate need to add a compounder to our team.
The Compounder Level II role will play an integral role in the manufacturing process by making our liquid products. This is senior position in the compounding department where the candidate will utilize their 5 years compounding experience to act as a leader within the department. Our work environment is spacious, well it and safe. You will be blending high quality ingredients that are safe to work with.
Shift - Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Reporting to the Compounding Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Taking a day-to-day leadership role within the compounding department
- Cleaning tanks and setting up equipment for all batches
- Accurately weighing, blending and preparing ingredients according to SOPs and GMP
- Executing batch sheets accurately according to SOPs
- Completing and documenting batch quality checks
- Completing batch documentation accurately at all times.
- Adhering to the production schedule to ensure on time manufacturing of batches.
- Striving to exceed the production schedule
- Training, coaching, and mentoring new and existing team members
- Ensuring all policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Working on continuous improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and safety
- Reporting any issues or upcoming issues with equipment to management
- Assembling, operating, and conducting minor repairs of compounding equipment
- Performing housekeeping of compounding area which includes keeping all materials off the floor, returning equipment to proper storage area when not in use and maintaining clear walkways, cleaning floor area and any equipment used in compounding
- Assisting in the Packaging department when time permits
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Working overtime as business needs required
We require:
- Demonstrated successful team leadership
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strict adherence to quality and safety processes and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good mechanical and general aptitude
- Fluency in verbal and written English
- Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Sound technical skills in weighing both liquids & powder
- Willingness to work overtime
- Sound problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to multitask and adapt to rapidly changing environments
- Punctuality
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years progressive compounding experience
- Minimum of 3 years successful experience leading a compounding team
- College or University education, preferably in science, math or mechanical programs
- Mechanical/Equipment experience is considered an asset
- Lab experience through work experience, formal education or a combination
- Forklift (Reach/Counter Balance) license is an asset
- WHIMS and TDG knowledge preferred
