About the role Annovex Pharma is seeking a full-time Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The team member will be responsible for compounding sterile and/or non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations per work instructions under pharmacist supervision. In addition, the successful candidate will assist in cleaning and maintenance of the work environment. This position is based in Lorton, Virginia. Although not a requirement for this position as cGMP training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have prior experience in compounding sterile and/or non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations. What you'll do The successful candidate will: · Comply with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy · Ensure cleaning and garbing is performed exactly as outlined in the facility’s policies and procedures · Compound all required types of sterile and non-sterile preparations accurately and in compliance with master worksheets · Operate all compounding equipment accurately and according to the facility’s policies and procedures · Prepare work area and products accurately and thoroughly prior to compounding · Perform required compounding activities daily without fingertip growth during manual and semi-automated compounding operations · Perform cleaning of the cleanroom areas thoroughly and according to policy without viable particle growth · Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the job, completing all annual competencies and skills validations · Pass all initial and on-going validations and advanced complex media-fill verifications · Accountable for activities in production area(s) to meet goals, and quality objectives · Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner · Effectively integrate knowledge into job functions and continually strive for professional development · Comply with 503B guidelines, cGMP policies and procedures, and company standards · Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors · Assist other areas as needed (picking and preparation operations, etc.) Physical Demands · Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 40+ pounds. · Must be able to sit or stand for 4+ hours at a time as needed. · Be completely covered in protective gear for long periods of time. Qualifications Required: · High School diploma or GED · Basic mathematical skills, including knowledge of metric system and its unit conversion · Strong, consistent attention to detail · Nationally certified as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) · Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the posting state Preferred: · ACPE Sterile products certification · IV bags and/or syringe compounding experience · Knowledgeable in ISO 5/7 environment cleanroom gowning · Knowledge of aseptic techniques · Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and how they apply to specific responsibilities and manufacturing operations
Responsibilities
The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for compounding sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under pharmacist supervision. The technician will also assist in cleaning and maintaining the work environment according to established policies and procedures.
