GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Web Applications Tax and Reporting development team is a dynamic workforce that builds world-class tax solutions. We are looking for a Web Applications Developer to join us on a dedicated team crafting visually stunning and seamlessly functional web applications for our application portfolio. You’ll be collaborating with talented, cross-functional teams, turning design mockups into reality for robust, scalable web applications across multiple technologies while interfacing with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and QA to ensure the best possible user experience across our technology stack. Your keen eye for design and attention to detail will be a driving force behind our codebase, and unit tests. On a day-to-day basis you will be designing and implementing code, unit tests, writing full documentation, while adhering to defined standards and following industry best practices. You’ll also attend and assist with design and code reviews to ensure code quality and participate in debugging sessions to resolve issues. Your problem-solving skills will be tested as you help triage problems, troubleshoot issues, debug existing code, and correct defects that fall outside of regular release cycles. You must have extensive knowledge on stateless web applications and associated security controls, possess excellent communication skills, exhibit sound judgement, and maintain and code to development standards.

TELEWORKING MAY BE CONSIDERED IF CERTAIN WORKING CONDITIONS ARE MET. THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PERMANENT RESIDENCY WITHIN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND MUST BE ABLE TO MEET IN OFFICE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH CAN VARY AMONG DIFFERENT SECTIONS (I.E. REPORT TO OFFICE 1 DAY/MONTH, 3 DAYS/WEEK, ETC.). TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS ARE NOT PROVIDED FOR TELEWORKING.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in application design, development, and support utilizing C# and .NET MVC5 and object-oriented design.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with React.JS.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with JavaScript (ECMAScript 6+).
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript microframeworks (React.js, Vue.js).
  • Three (3) years’ experience in application design for mobile first web applications including HTML5, CSS3 and the Bootstrap framework.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
  • Experience with MuleSoft and Anypoint IDE.
  • Experience in mobile-first development concepts.
  • Experience with 508 compliance, specifically for responsive design/mobile.
  • Experience writing stored procedures and SSIS packages
  • Java programming.
  • Experience with DB2 database.

Also, this position requires the incumbent must be able to ride elevator; must be able to carry laptop home for on-call duties, must be able to sit for hours at one time, must be able to work on a pc keying program changes as a repetitive function.
Employees are required to use their personal mobile phones as a part of 2 factor/multi factor authentication for accessing CPA systems securely. You will also receive critical/emergency calls/texts on your cell phone to ensure immediate communication.

Responsibilities
  • Performs coding tasks in React.JS, .Net, JavaScript, and related technologies based on business requirements and design in a distributed development environment; designs and codes applications adhering to established architecture, design & coding standards.
  • Analyzes, researches, and interprets business requirements to develop technical specifications.
  • Oversees and/or performs unit testing and integration testing of applicable changes based on requirements, including implementation and environment preparation, documentation, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Mentors other developers regarding hardware, software, and the use of advanced technical solutions and tools.
  • Documents current or proposed software applications; participates in status, training, requirements, design, and review sessions; and creates written proposals for improvement in the tools & technologies in the defined architecture.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned, including responding to problems in an on-call situation 24 hours a day during a rotation.
