We’re Hiring! Our key client is hiring and looking to add a Computer Hardware Technician to their team. Please check the description below and reach out to us for more details if you are interested.
Pay Rate: $20.12/hr to start and once trained $21.18/hr
Shifts: 5:45am - 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday but must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays if production has a need.
Location: Fairburn, GA 30213

JOB SUMMARY:

The Computer Hardware Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related equipment. They diagnose hardware issues, replace faulty components, and ensure systems function optimally. This may include working with desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals, and various types of networking hardware.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to stand up to 10+ hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work first or second shift plus occasional weekends and Holidays
  • Ability to work indoors with varying temperature changes.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this position.
  • Ability to operate tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, precision screwdrivers, rotary tools and 3D printers, and to distinguish between various colors of wiring.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and devise solutions.
  • Observational skills to notice potential problems during service checks.
  • Exhibit a strong ability to analyze and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Maintain comprehensive expertise in circuitry, wiring systems, and splicing techniques, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and staying current with evolving industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in computer hardware and technical support roles, including responsibilities aligned with those of a computer technician.
  • Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with a wide range of technology hardware, including desktop and laptop computers, tablets, smartphones, printers projectors, interactive whiteboards, scanners, and digital cameras.

Responsibilities
  • Installation and Setup – Assemble, install, and configure computer systems, servers, printers, and peripherals. Set up hardware to meet organizational or user needs.
  • Maintenance – Perform routine maintenance on hardware to ensure optimal performance. Clean and inspect components to prevent hardware failures.
  • Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve hardware issues using testing tools and diagnostic techniques. Identify and fix problems (overheating, connectivity problems, hardware failures) with computers, peripherals, and network devices.
  • Repairs – Replace damaged or faulty hardware components like motherboards (circuit boards), CPUs (central processing units), RAM (random-access memory, also known as memory), hard drives, and power supplies. Repair peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and monitors.
  • Upgrades – Recommend and perform hardware upgrades to improve system performance or compatibility. Ensure hardware is compatible with the latest software and applications.
  • Inventory Management – Maintain records of hardware inventory, including warranty information and maintenance schedules. Track hardware usage and recommend replacements as needed.
  • User Support – Provide technical assistance to users experiencing hardware problems. Offer training and guidance on proper equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Testing – Run diagnostic tests to verify the functionality of hardware and ensure proper installation. Test new hardware for compatibility before deployment.
  • Documentation – Document repairs, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting processes for future reference. Keep logs of hardware issues and their resolutions.
  • Performance of any other general operative duties and tasks, depending on workload and production scheduling requirements.
