OVERVIEW

Kids Great Minds (KGM) provides fun computer learning courses specifically designed for children, teens and their learning styles. We are looking for full-time staff to build our team for the busy summer camp season.
Instructors deliver in-house developed technology courses that teach children a range of skills in math, science, engineering, coding and art. KGM instructors have a unique blend of professionalism and some experience with children. They also have a genuine desire to work with children and teens, while being flexible, patient, energetic, tolerant and ready to have fun!! Our instructors work closely with the Program Supervisor/Coordinator for logistical and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge in computer software is not a must but a plus! The ideal candidate for this job will have expertise and/or ability to quickly learn new things, have experience working with Children or Youth, or children with special needs.
Knowledge in one or more of the following categories is a large asset: Game Design and Development, 3D Modeling & Design, Programming, Robotics, Computer Animation, Virtual Reality or App Development.
NOTE: KGM will provide intensive training in all software/hardware along with provide detailed lesson plans prior to camp/course.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the curriculum and resources provided by KGM, ensuring a fun, organized, and rewarding experience for all students
  • Teach key concepts in a variety of formats: hands-on, group work, etc.
  • Teach with passion, structure and expertise while guiding students through the completion of a personal project and making the class fun
  • Collaborate, guide and oversee one or more Assistant teachers/Councilors who will assist you in creating an amazing experience for the students
  • Take part in bi-weekly staff meetings (online or in person), to occur before and/or after a designated day.
  • Take part in team building activities.
  • Where applicable, engage with students during breaks and lunch to ensure they are safe and having fun.
  • Assist with classroom setup and turnover.
  • Assist with student sign in and safe departure procedures.
