Description

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our growing IT infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level computer networks and integrated IT systems to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex computer networks, including LAN, WAN, cloud-based, and hybrid systems.
  • Analyse system requirements and develop appropriate network and systems solutions.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and server environments (Windows/Linux).
  • Monitor system performance, apply upgrades, and ensure high availability.
  • Develop, document, and implement network policies and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with security teams to maintain secure systems infrastructure.
  • Provide advanced technical support for infrastructure issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with IT standards, including ISO and cybersecurity frameworks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role involving both systems and network engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
  • Experience with configuration and maintenance of Cisco/Juniper routers and switches.
  • Proficient in server management (Windows Server, Linux), Active Directory, Group Policy.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable Certifications (not mandatory):

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator or AWS Solutions Architect
  • VMware VCP
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
