This is a hands-on engineering position supporting multiple customer environments, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, technical problem-solving, and working with different infrastructure platforms.

The successful applicant will be involved in day-to-day managed services as well as infrastructure improvements, technology deployments, client projects, and technical escalations. You will work closely with customers, internal engineers, and external technology partners to maintain stable, secure, and high-performing IT environments.

This is not a single-site support role. The position requires an engineer who can assess different environments, understand business requirements, and apply the appropriate technical solution.

Salary: AUD $80,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Hours: 38h p/w ( Monday to Friday)

Location: Camberwell, Victoria 3124

Task & responsibilities

  • Provide engineering-level support across customer network, server, cloud and endpoint environments.
  • Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and recurring technical issues.
  • Build, configure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and associated services.
  • Assist with the delivery of customer infrastructure upgrades, migrations and new deployments.
  • Maintain reliable connectivity across office, remote and multi-site environments.
  • Support enterprise wireless environments and investigate performance and coverage issues.
  • Administer Microsoft-based infrastructure, identity platforms and business productivity services.
  • Maintain virtualisation platforms, backup systems and physical server infrastructure.
  • Monitor customer environments and respond to alerts, performance issues and service degradation.
  • Perform infrastructure assessments and identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and performance.
  • Assist with cybersecurity investigations, vulnerability remediation and security improvement activities.
  • Work with third-party suppliers and technology vendors when specialist assistance is required.
  • Participate in planned maintenance, after-hours work and critical incident escalations when required.
  • Provide technical advice to customers and contribute to solution design and technology recommendations.

Technical Background

Networking

  • Enterprise Cisco switching and routing
  • Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and network troubleshooting
  • VLANs, STP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF and BGP
  • Multi-site and resilient network environments
  • SD-WAN, SDA, ACI or comparable software-defined networking technologies

Wireless & Network Access

  • Cisco wireless infrastructure
  • Enterprise WLAN troubleshooting and optimisation
  • Wireless controllers and access points
  • 802.1x, Cisco ISE or equivalent NAC experience
