JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Computer Network Technician
Duty Station: British Columbia, Canada & U.S. Expansion (Remote & On-Site)
Reports To: Sr. Field Technician Manager
As a Computer Network Technician at Omnivir, you are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. You have a client-centric mindset, take initiative, use good judgment, and are highly organized. You maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.
Our technicians must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Our ideal candidate has experience with:
CLOUD-BASED NETWORKING & SECURITY TOOLS
Desktop publishing software (preferred but not required)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To succeed in this role, you must perform each essential duty with professionalism, a commitment to excellence, and attention to detail.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations
Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating systems
Load computer tapes and disks, install software, and manage peripherals
Provide problem-solving support to network users
Perform routine network startups, shutdowns, and maintain control records
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade web server hardware and software
Set up and secure network connections, including VPNs and remote access
