The Role Computer Operators at Kyndryl are key in helping revolutionize the way we operate complex computer systems. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, supervise and control intricate networks and applications, and operate distributed systems in a multi-vendor environment. As a Computer Operator you will be on the technical frontline – performing batch operations as per service agreements, analyzing first-level issues across systems, and resolving/routing issues as appropriate. You will also have the opportunity to develop support system management processes specific to customer requirements, ensuring that we provide the highest level of service to our customers. The Role Are you passionate about maintaining mission-critical systems and ensuring seamless IT operations? As a Computer Operations Specialist on the 3rd shift, you will play a vital role in monitoring and managing mainframe and distributed systems at our client’s Louisville, KY data center. This onsite role supports 24x7x365 operations, ensuring system stability, timely issue resolution, and coordination with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities • Monitor 11 mainframe consoles and respond to system messages, abends, and outstanding replies. • Execute commands and manage initiators, including draining and restarting as needed. • Support twice-monthly IPLs (Initial Program Loads), disaster recovery activities, and communications. • Coordinate monthly application releases, including managing multiple bridge calls. • Serve as backup for AS400 tape requests and Iron Mountain delivery pickups. • Collaborate with the Client TOC (IT Operations Center) and DCAS (Data Center Architecture Services) during switch maintenance. • Maintain stable VDI sessions during network upgrades due to hardwired PC configurations. • Communicate clearly and effectively with peers, management, and customers. • Build and maintain positive working relationships across teams. • Perform complex problem determination and resolution, including root cause analysis with vendor support. • Ensure compliance with all audit, security, and operational standards. Required Skills and Experience • 3 years of relevant experience with batch operations and scheduling software (e.g., IBM IZWS or equivalent). • Proficiency with ServiceNow or comparable ticketing systems. • Familiarity with Windows operating systems. • Strong communication and coordination skills. • Ability to work onsite in a 24x7x365 environment. Preferred Skills and Experience • Experience with troubleshooting, backup/recovery, and basic networking. • Exposure to SQL and disaster recovery planning. • Familiarity with TMON or similar monitoring tools. The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $53,160 to $95,640 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement. There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations: California:$58,440 to $114,840 Colorado: $53,160 to $95,640 New York City: $63,720 to $114,840 Washington: $58,440 to $105,240 Washington DC:$58,440 to $105,240 This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
