JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Computer Operator II (Lead Data Collector)) supervises and schedules work assignments, maintains records, and performs quality control checks in a field environment. This role requires subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete various administrative tasks and resolve complex issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must hold US Citizenship.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Common Access Card and Local Area Network account required.
  • Valid State driver’s license and car insurance for access to military installations and travel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quality control and data management.
  • Prior data collection and military experience with an understanding of military terminology, field operations, and military tactical experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Five years’ experience in automated data processing or other similar administrative occupation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of quality control capabilities, handwriting skills, and data collection knowledge and use of EWSS and ATOM.
  • Must be able to demonstrate laptop connectivity to Wi-Fi and navigation means.
  • Must be able to travel and be fit to work in a field environment which requires walking over unimproved terrain.
  • Must be able to use tablets for electronic data collection.
  • Must be able to carry a data collection kit consisting of a backpack, laptop, charging devices, clipboard, GPS, and necessary hydration needs.
  • College coursework in a computer related field is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and schedule work assignments for subordinate positions.
  • Maintain a wide variety of financial and other records, both manually and electronically.
  • Verify statistical reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile information and handle complaints.
  • Provide input to data collection plans, forms, and instructions.
  • Prepare data collector handbooks and training materials.
  • Conduct quality control checks on collected data.
  • Develop procedures to collect data during operational test events.
  • Prepare and deliver daily safety briefings and status reports.
  • Investigate data anomalies and handle requests for information.
  • Conduct training for data collectors.
  • Use GPS for field site grid coordinates and drive to test sites.
  • Develops control, safety, test event and test status procedures and training.
  • Can perform duties as Visitor Control, Security VIP.
  • Develop procedures to collect data during operational test events.
  • Performs duties of a Shift Supervisor.
  • Conducts training, data control collection, field QC, data transfer, IOM of support equipment, safety briefings, and Observable Controller (OC) status
  • Perform other duties as assigned
