George Fox University’s IT department is seeking a skilled and motivated team player to fill the role of Computer Support Specialist.

JOB INFORMATION:

  • Hours Per Week: 40 hours (1.0 FTE) - Monday through Friday
  • Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
  • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of a normal office environment. Must have the ability to lift more than 25 pounds and perform any activities such as balancing, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, crouching, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Configuring, deploying, and tracking all Windows and macOS computers. (40%)
  • Diagnosing and repairing software/hardware related problems on Windows and macOS computers. (25%)
  • Managing and updating computer builds and images. (10%)
  • Installing software and hardware on faculty, staff, and lab computers (10%)
  • Assisting customers with technology issues on the phone, at Service Desk, or at their work location. (15%)
  • Evaluating and troubleshooting issues related to AI-powered applications used by faculty and staff, such as productivity tools, research assistants, or learning platforms.
  • Assisting with the deployment and configuration of AI-driven tools and services, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Monitoring the performance of AI-integrated systems and reporting any anomalies or issues.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
