Orange East Supervisory Union (OESU) located in Bradford VT, is seeking a Computer Support Specialist to join our team and help shape the future of education across our exceptional rural schools. Located in the scenic Upper Valley region of Vermont, OESU serves a diverse group of communities including Bradford, Corinth, Groton, Newbury, Ryegate, Thetford, Topsham, and Wells River.Qualifications: Experience and comfort working with, troubleshooting, and explaining different technologiesPosition SummaryThe Computer Support Specialist, under the direction of the Director of Technology, oversees computers, printer, network equipment and related devices, diagnoses, maintains and repairs computer equipment, and maintains equipment records, and performs related work, as required.Performance Responsibilities: Installs, maintains, and repairs SU computers and related hardware; installs software.Ensures that repairs to equipment are handled in a timely manner.Assists users in resolving technical problems, restores data, transfers data, uses software, etc.Maintains internet services and connectivity for all authorized SU users.Receives, logs, tests and installs software, hardware, network equipment, cables, and related peripherals.Uses diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot problems.Develops and maintains checklists for equipment troubleshooting and operations.Maintains equipment inventories.Assures cleanliness of computer room and equipment.Prepares orders for warehouse supplies; prepares purchase orders for departmental purchases.Participates in SU-mandated training and retraining programs.Keeps up-to-date on technology, current developments, and best practices in the field, including designing a plan to implement/integrate the best practices.EvaluationThe Director of Technology shall perform evaluation annually.Supervision: Reports to the Director of ITPosition ExpectationsAbility to maintain confidentiality.Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.Knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of technology hardware and software.Ability to maintain and repair all related hardware and to install software.Ability to perform diagnostic analysis of computer systems.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with SU staff.Ability to communicate with non-technical personnel when dealing with computer matters.Ability to keep basic records.Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, operating practices, and procedure manuals.High accuracy and attention to detail.This compensation range is provided in accordance with Vermonts Pay Transparency Law and reflects a good faith estimate, it is provided in good faith and may vary based on the candidates skills, experience, and qualifications. Final compensation may also be influenced by internal equity and market considerations
