Description

SGI Global is seeking a Computer Support Technician to provide IT support services to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO), District of Minnesota. This role plays a key part in maintaining and supporting the IT systems, networks, and applications critical to the USAO’s mission to prosecute and defend cases on behalf of the federal government.
The Technician will work under the direction of the IT Systems Manager, providing technical assistance in IT systems/network administration, system security, user support, and troubleshooting.

Job Duties

  • Support the installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and maintenance of networked systems (data, voice, video).
  • Provide IT customer support services including troubleshooting, user assistance, training, and system optimization.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data by implementing and enhancing information systems security.
  • Assist with configuration, installation, and maintenance of hardware/software for a local area network, Microsoft SQL Server, web-based applications, and mobile/wireless technology.
  • Support litigation support and case management systems, including web content management tasks.
  • Ensure system performance optimization, conduct system backups, patch management, and routine system maintenance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education beyond high school.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated IT-related experience, with proficiency in the following competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Thorough and conscientious work habits.
  • Customer Service: Ability to assess customer needs, provide solutions, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions.
  • Practical experience in:
  • Systems administration and network management.
  • Information system integration and optimization.
  • Troubleshooting, recovery, and preventative maintenance for IT systems.
  • Performance tuning, database management, and applying project management methods.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Must meet DOJ residency requirements (must have lived in the U.S. 3 of the last 5 years or have qualifying federal/military service overseas).
  • Must be eligible for and obtain a DOJ background investigation and security clearance.
  • Must complete DOJ-mandated training (ethics, cybersecurity awareness).
  • Must sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
