Description:
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience with imaging PCs and laptops using tools such as PXE, WSUS and Man, MDT, or similar.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, including setup and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with mobile device management and setup.
Project Management
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with internal teams and stakeholders.
Problem Solving
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Proactive in identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
Team Collaboration
- Experience working in a collaborative IT environment.
- Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to team success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a similar IT technician or hardware deployment role.
- Strong understanding of hardware refresh processes.
- Familiarity with WEEE compliance is advantageous.
- Experience with asset management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Computer Technician for GSF Car Parts, you will be part of our Hardware Refresh Project which includes leading the imaging and preparation of new and used PCs and laptops using standardized tools and procedures and coordinate the distribution and deployment of 400 PCs and 100 laptops across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hardware Refresh Project
- Lead the imaging and preparation of new and used PCs and laptops using standardized tools and procedures.
- Coordinate the distribution and deployment of 400 PCs and 100 laptops across the organization.
Manage the project lifecycle, ensuring:
- Careful planning of tasks and timelines.
- Regular communication with stakeholders, including team members and business units.
- Effective tracking of progress and resolution of issues to meet deadlines.
Waste Management
- Oversee the safe and environmentally compliant disposal of old IT equipment in line with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of disposed assets for audit purposes.
Mobile Device Management
- Configure and deploy mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) to meet business requirements.
- Ensure devices are appropriately secured and set up for end users.
Hardware Room Maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the hardware storage area.
- Implement systems to streamline equipment storage and retrieval processes.
Asset Management Software Implementation
- Support the IT team with the rollout of a new asset management software tool.
- Assist in setting up and updating the database with accurate hardware details.
- Provide input and feedback to optimise the tool’s configuration for business needs.
