About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who are we looking for
As our new Moly Plant Leading Hand, you will assist the Moly Processing Plant Supervisor in all facets of production in the Moly Plant. You will be responsible for meeting production targets by maximising concentrate throughput, achieving recovery and grade requirements, and safely processing molybdenum concentrate. You will also be required to provide relief coverage as required.
This role ensures safe, efficient, and continuous operations across these sections while supporting team leadership, coordination, and adherence to site standards and values.Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, maintaining the compliance and execution of daily tasks, isolations& shutdown plans. You will ensure the Ore Processing Department is operating safely, effectively and meeting agreed production and recovery targets at below budget cost.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate, support, and encourage alignment with Newmont values and policies. You’ll also ensure compliance with safety and environmental management systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure operation of the processing equipment occurs within the process parameters and control limits in accordance with documented safe work procedures
  • Actively contribute to improvements in safety culture and processes to ensure ongoing, practical improvements in safe work practices and operator training
  • Manage the shift activities of the Process Technicians, including the assignment of duties/responsibilities, isolations and permits, training and development
  • Report, investigate and contribute to mitigating actions for all incidents and hazards identified
  • Relief supervise and compile daily reports on overall production and recovery targets while troubleshooting and actioning any variance outside of parameters or target
    Through excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, you will support your supervisor to coach, mentor and guide your team, work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, operational and commercial outcomes and apply a pro-active problem-solving approach to issues that arise.
