JOB POSTING: CONCESSION CASHIER (CASUAL)

Position: Concession Cashier
Department: Food & Beverage – Concessions
Reports To: Concessions Venue Lead
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt (Casual)

SUMMARY

The Avenir Centre has an immediate opening for a Concession Cashier. This position is responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to guests while ensuring accurate cash handling and inventory tracking. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Cash handling experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with alcohol management procedures is required
  • Responsible Beverage Service Certificate preferred
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification required
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in a high-pressure, team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • English proficiency required, French an asset
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol

Responsibilities
  • Accurately manage all cash and inventory within assigned concession stand
  • Ensure safe, clean, and sanitary working conditions
  • Prepare for daily and peak-hour sales volumes
  • Communicate change requirements to the Cash Room Supervisor
  • Complete all cashier-related paperwork (inventory sheets, spoilage reports, etc.)
  • Confirm register accuracy and ensure correct pricing
  • Monitor proper recording of employee meals and vouchers
  • Follow all cash handling policies and procedures
  • Deliver pleasant, efficient service to all guests
  • Accurately charge customers based on approved pricing
  • Verify ID for all alcohol purchases
  • Perform other event-related duties as assigned
