Our vibrant senior living community, The Firs, is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Community Services Associate to join our team of Senior Living Warriors!
In this unique role, you’ll wear many hats—providing the warm welcome and helpful support of a concierge while also helping keep our community clean, comfortable, and inviting through housekeeping services. Job Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for front desk operations, assisting residents with their needs, and handling community inquiries. This includes the care and upkeep of the interior and exterior of the community grounds, general safety and security, escalating high-level complaints, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the common areas, performing administrative duties, and emergency response. The assistant follows the guidelines, policies, and procedures of the community and is directed by the Director of Environmental Services and/or another designee of the Executive Director. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Clean, to include but not limited to: floors ( sweeping, dusting, mopping, disinfecting, etc.), bathrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, replacing towels, toilet paper, seat cover, etc.) walls/ceilings (washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.) stairways, hallways, and elevators, removing dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions 50%

Keep work areas safe by posting proper signs and free of hazardous objects such as protruding tools, chemicals, etc. – putting all equipment away as soon as the job that requires it is finished.

Use all appropriate safety and protective equipment and supplies when performing job duties, reporting any health, safety and/or sanitation concerns to a supervisor
-
Monitor the overall security of the community, including any/all entry and exit doors
-
Follow all established techniques, procedures and policies for properly storing, using and mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning, and for the proper disposal of waste
-
Follow all established PPE (personal protective equipment) policies when handling chemicals and/or cleaning; including wearing gloves, masks, aprons, etc.

Follow established policies governing the use of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Keep all common areas, bathrooms, administration offices and apartments clean, attractive and functioning

Responsible for apartment preparation of vacant rooms.
General Safety and Security

Responsible for answering the community phone with a courteous and friendly voice.

Investigating all incidents and suspicious occurrences and filling an incident report if required.
-
Responds to all security calls and complaints, taking necessary action and handling on-scene emergency situations.
-
Notifies the appropriate agencies in situations where their emergency response and support is necessary.

Sounds alarm and or calls police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

Assist in emergency response procedures as per community policy.

Responds to resident call lights immediately.
Resident Services
-
Reviews, reads, notates and initializes daily log to document and learn about pertinent information.

Assists residents with packages such as but not limited to groceries, mail and newspapers.

Delivers items to resident in accordance with community policy.
-
Practices positive resident and guest relations; ensures that appropriate resident and guest feedback is communicated to supervisor.

Take meal orders for the dining room and assist with meal safety checks.

  • Perform other duties as consistent with the position and as assigned by the Director of Environmental Services and/or Executive Director
  • Display tact, friendliness, and professionalism when dealing with residents, Team Members, and guests
  • Promote and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication in accordance with the MBK principles and core values
  • Assist in the marketing of the community by always displaying a positive and professional image through words, actions, and appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by the Executive Director or designee of the Executive Director
  • Deep commitment to customer service when dealing with residents, Team Members, and guests (act with a sense of ownership of the community facilities).

  • High school diploma or equivalent (if over 18)
    Experience Requirements (in years):

Prior mechanical and troubleshooting and ability to repair experience preferred but on the job training is available for candidates with the right attitude and desire Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Microsoft Suite competency.

  • Age 18 or over, or have the proper work permit and work authorization documentation


  • Background clearances as required by government regulations

  • Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results (must be within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment)

  • Valid class of driver’s license required by state for vehicle/van(s) capacity and valid insurance

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

  • Ability to follow oral and written directions

  • Ability to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment consistent with the position

  • Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be mobile and able to execute the physical demands of the position

  • Must be able to lift and push up to 75 pounds with assistance; duties require frequent carrying, pushing and pulling, climbing, bending, climbing, walking, standing, and sitting; frequent walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, etc.
    Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday (Full Time- 35hrs/week)
    Hours: 5:00 pm - 12:00am
    Pay: $18.50-$19 (DOE)
