  JOB DETAILS      Position Title   Concrete Finisher  Location   Clute, TX Functionally Reports into   Superintendent   FLSA Status   Non-Exempt    JOB OBJECTIVE    The Industrial Concrete Finisher will smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as foundations, duct banks, columns, beams, and other concrete structures.      REQUIREMENTS   EXPERIENCE  * Must have 4+ years industrial construction experience working with concrete. * Must be able to illustrate journeyman level knowledge on selecting, mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete. * Must have knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction. * Must have reliable transportation. * Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed * Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations. * Must follow all company and site rules and regulations. * Must have required tools. * Must have a valid Driver's License. * Must pass drug and background check. * TWIC Card Preferred KNOWLEDGE  * Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, and hand or power screed.  * Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete on forms.  * Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.  * Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position reinforcing rods to repair concrete.  * Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete using hand or power mixing equipment.  * Spray curing compounds on concrete to prevent cracking. * Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.  * Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.  * Clean and prepare surfaces to be finished. * Ability to identify all tools required for tasks. * Ability to identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks. * Assist in pouring concrete structures. * Assist in finishing and smoothing freshly poured concrete structures. * Assist in dismantling prefabricated and wooden forms. * Assist on any miscellaneous construction processes. * Clean-up/housekeeping of work areas.   PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & CAPABILITIES   * High level of intellectual ability.  * Shares expertise with others.  * Displays willingness to make decisions.  * Supports and explains reasoning for decisions.  * Makes timely decisions.  * Strong interpersonal skills.  * Contributes to building a positive team spirit.  * Changes approach or method to best fit the situation.  * Communicates changes effectively.  * Remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things.  * Adapts to changes in work environment.  * Balances team and individual responsibilities.  * Uses time efficiently. * Prioritizes and plans work activities.    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS    * High School Diploma or Equivalent   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  * Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.  * Will talk and hear to communicate.  * Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull:  objects, materials, controls, and tools.  * May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.  * Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements. * Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. * Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.     U.S. Only: Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Norrell Construction is required.  Norrell Construction, Inc is an equal opportunity employer.
