We are now recruiting for the position of Concrete Technician, to further enhance our offering to Clients. This position will be based at our Balbriggan facility. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your career, by becoming an integral part of our Quality team.
For the role of Concrete Technician, we seek an experienced individual to work within production / laboratory and assist in the maintenance of accreditation to EN 206 - the current specification and production of Concrete, its Performance, Production and Conformity.

QUALITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Follow the requirements of the Quality Manual and standard operating procedures.
  2. Make correct use of any protective clothing, equipment or other safety measures provided.
  3. Maintain good housekeeping at the lab and concrete batching plant, attending any relevant toolbox talks, understanding proper usage of spill kits and emergency procedures, reporting any non-compliance to management.
    Training in testing procedures will be available (if necessary).
Responsibilities
  1. Ensure correct number of cubes are made daily oversee the quality of the cubes, storage and testing.
  2. Flow tests of concrete – normal and SCC daily.
  3. Sieve analysis and moisture content on every load.
  4. Record all results in databases on cloud based storage system..
  5. Anomalies in results to be notified to Quality Manager for further investigation.
  6. Check and audit mix designs, mix design database versus batcher.
  7. Ensuring lab equipment is calibrated and in good condition.
  8. Monitor sand and aggregate storage bins to avoid contamination.
  9. Oversee factory temperature humidity monitoring.
  10. Carry out trials on early strength development of concrete.
  11. Any ad hoc work as requested by the Quality Manager.
