Description At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Paving Foreman to join our team. This position will play a key role in managing the preparation and execution of both slipform and fixed form paving operations, ensuring the construction of finished pavements that meet stringent FAA, USACE, and various state DOT specifications. The Paving Foreman will be directly involved in concrete paving operations while also overseeing skilled and general laborers on the job site. Daily, this individual will work closely with Hi-Way’s job-site leadership to review procedures, plans, and results, ensuring the successful and safe completion of each project. Location: Currently located in Nashville, TN (with future travel required to various job sites including Charlotte, NC and other future site locations TBD.) What You'll Do: Inspect the condition of grade, forms, and steel placement for compliance with specifications prior to concrete placements. Perform or assist with the setup of slipform paving equipment. Coordinate slipform paving operations using GOMACO paving equipment using stringless technology. Coordinate and implement fixed-form paving operations. Monitor all placement, finishing, and curing operations for specification compliance. Direct and communicate with crew members and project managers to ensure high-quality pavements. Perform and report time and cost coding for all supervised/managed employees. Monitor and help enforce safety rules and practices from all governing authorities and site-specific plans. Requirements What We Look For: 3+ years’ experience as a construction/paving foreman on heavy/highway and airfield projects or related construction job-site management experience, preferred. Experience with GOMACO paving equipment is preferred. Enhanced training or certifications in safety and/or OSHA regulations preferred. High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be willing to travel overnight to job sites up to 100% of the time. Additional Requirements: Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases). Willingness to travel 100% of the time. Valid driver’s license. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces. If applicable, indicate union affiliation in your application.
