Description JOB SUMMARY The LVN Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Concurrent Review team by serving as the first-line resource of workflow questions, documentation standards, procedure clarification, and general support for inpatient review staff. This role coordinates staff assignments, provides quality assurance auditing, assists with training, and ensures adherence to Medical Management policies, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards. The LVN Supervisor carries a limited, LVN-appropriate caseload, performing concurrent review tasks that fall within LVN scope and escalating cases that require physician review. This role actively collaborates with physicians, hospital personnel, case managers, and internal departments to support timely and effective discharge planning and care coordination. Requirements MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program. Preferred: Coursework or certification in leadership, case management fundamentals, or healthcare administration. Experience Minimum: 2+ years of experience in managed care organization or healthcare facility. Experience in utilization management, concurrent review, discharge planning, or related medical management functions. Preferred: Experience in a lead or supervisory role within a healthcare or managed care environment. Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position. Certification(s) Current State LVN License Skills, Knowledge & Abilities · Knowledge of managed care principles, utilization management processes, and care coordination workflows. · Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. · Ability to interpret basic clinical information and escalate appropriately. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). · Ability to support staff, provide constructive feedback, and maintain professionalism. · Ability to work independently, multi-task, and adapt to changing priorities. PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS This role requires the ability to perform essential job functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Work is primarily sedentary, with approximately 70% of time spent sitting for tasks such as writing, typing, and phone communication. The position involves minimal standing, walking, and overhead reaching; typically, less than 25% of the time. Employees may need to drive to and from acute care facilities as part of routine duties. Physical activities may include lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up to two flights of stairs multiple times per day. This role requires adherence to HIPAA confidentiality standards, compliance with safety procedures, dress code, and accurate timekeeping. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to changing organizational needs are essential.
