Description JOB SUMMARY The RN Supervisor, Concurrent Case Management provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for inpatient review staff. This role ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. The RN Supervisor carries a limited caseload and performs clinical review functions requiring RN-level assessment, critical-thinking, and application of medical necessity criteria. The RN Supervisor collaborates with physicians, hospital staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe and appropriate transitions of care. Requirements MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field. Experience Minimum: 2+ years of inpatient review experience in managed care organization or acute healthcare facility. Preferred: Experience in supervisory or lead-level case management. Experience in managed care utilization management. Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position. Certification(s) Current State Registered Nursing License Skills, Knowledge & Abilities · Strong clinical judgment, assessment skills, and knowledge of inpatient standards of care. · Proficiency in interpreting complex clinical documentation and applying medical necessity criteria. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to mentor and guide clinical staff. PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS This role requires the ability to perform essential job functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Work is primarily sedentary, with approximately 70% of time spent sitting for tasks such as writing, typing, and phone communication. The position involves minimal standing, walking, and overhead reaching; typically, less than 25% of the time. Employees may need to drive to and from acute care facilities as part of routine duties. Physical activities may include lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up to two flights of stairs multiple times per day. This role requires adherence to HIPAA confidentiality standards, compliance with safety procedures, dress code, and accurate timekeeping. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to adapt to changing organizational needs are essential.
