Summary of the Position:
This position works within a small team environment with the aim of improving the health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the provision of comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary health care services.
The primary function of this position is to provide high quality health care including assessment, examination, treatment and case management, along with contributing to the development of models of holistic health incorporating continuity of care.
This position requires travel to the Northern and Southern Goldfields areas on a regular basis, up to 3-4 days at a time.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

This position is a highly varied role that will see you working as part of a multi-disciplinary clinic team to deliver a comprehensive, holistic, culturally appropriate primary health care service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the Goldfields Region.
Actively participates as a member of the Bega clinic team to ensure the delivery of quality comprehensive primary, emergency and related health services and programs to Bega’s clients;
Ensure Bega and clients benefit from all Medicare approved service opportunities, including the active pursuit of and participation in initiatives such as the GPMP/TCA, Adult Health Checks, Child Health Checks, GP Management Plans and Team Care Plans based on the levels of training, and as per national KPI standards as may be operative from time to time;

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in human resources and industrial relations / Business Management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans to support Bega’s organisational objectives with regard to People and Culture.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in delivering effective employee engagement, leadership development and reward initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in fostering a positive and supportive workplace that is free from unhealthy behaviours.
  • Change management experience and flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong and productive partnerships with the Aboriginal Community and liaise effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise work tasks.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote and uphold HR initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to a small team, including the capacity to review and improve workplace practices.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including negotiating and consolation skills and the ability to proactively establish and sustain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and the issues affecting them, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the full cycle of Workers Compensation claims including return to work processes.
  • An ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organisation in the resolution of HR issues.
  • A current membership with Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI).
  • Experience in working for an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or Not-For-Profit organisation, inclusive of funding and contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement principles with experience in the practical application of these principles in evaluating organisational and staff needs.
