A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of condominium and homeowner associations is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience for our Indianapolis, IN office. Qualified candidates must be licensed in Indiana. This position offers a hybrid role combining general corporate/transactional work with exposure to alternative dispute resolution and litigation, with a primary focus on representing community associations. The ideal candidate is a motivated attorney who is comfortable handling matters from start to finish, who enjoys regular client interaction, and can successfully balance ongoing advisory responsibilities. For candidates interested in learning court procedure, the opportunity to attend court hearings is available. The starting salary is $100,000, contingent upon level of experience. Draft, review, interpret, and amend governing documents, including declarations, bylaws, and rules and regulations. Review and negotiate management agreements and vendor contracts. Prepare and issue demand letters and other compliance or violation notices. Advise boards on compliance with applicable Indiana statutes, including the Indiana Condominium Act and the Indiana Nonprofit Corporation Act. Attend and advise at board and membership meetings, both in person and virtually. Provide ongoing legal guidance on governance matters, elections, fiduciary duties, enforcement policies, risk management, and statutory obligations. Assist associations with budgeting issues, owner disputes, records requests, and regulatory compliance. Manage HOA-related litigation matters, including covenant enforcement actions and contract disputes. Counsel boards on litigation risk, strategy, and dispute resolution. Support pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts, including settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration. Participate in all required Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs. Requirements Required Experience/Skills: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court. 2-4 years of legal experience preferred; experience in HOA law, landlord-tenant matters, litigation, or corporate practice is helpful but not required. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines efficiently. Professional, client-focused approach with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Preferred Experience: Prior experience with homeowners or condominium associations, landlord-tenant law, or nonprofit or corporate governance. Experience attending, advising, or working with boards or similar governing bodies. Familiarity with Indiana trial courts, court procedures, or trial advocacy.
