MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Confectioner at Pettitt’s, you will be responsible for producing and decorating cakes, pastries, and other confectionery items. You will ensure all products are fresh, visually appealing, and made to exacting standards. This role requires a passion for baking, creativity in decoration, and a strong commitment to food safety, quality, and teamwork.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively live the brand values and inspire others to do the same.
• Deliver the highest standard of customer service at all times.
• Monitor and maintain all bakery equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Execute bakes for custom themes (e.g. birthdays), ensuring clean and aesthetically pleasing finishes.
• Design and decorate cakes and desserts with care, creativity, and precision.
• Package items carefully to preserve decoration integrity during handling and transit.
• Ensure all products meet store quality standards before display or sale.
• Adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures.
• Uphold quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Store ingredients and finished products correctly and safely at all times.
• Maintain top-tier hygiene standards, including a comprehensive HACCP plan and staff training.
• Ensure excellent merchandising and presentation of the confectionery department at all times.
• Maintain correct standard and promotional pricing across all products.
• Comply with all relevant Health & Safety regulations and report any breaches to management.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory, equipment, or customer issues.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
