Description I. Function Summary: The Confectionery Cook is responsible for cooking and mixing of all confectionery items produced in the Souderton facility. The position must accurately weigh and mix all ingredients while constantly confirming the quality of the ingredients and final product. Also, this associate must account for all materials used through our ERP system (ROSS) certifying those materials are scanned into the production job. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Must work in a safe and efficient manner at all times. Must always follow all Safety and GMP guidelines. Weigh and cook all candy formulas in quantities according to the Recipe instruction from Production Job. Deposit cooked or mixed batches of product into the manufacturing equipment for processing. Conduct all necessary tests of batches to ensure they are meeting all required quality specifications. Will operate various confectionary equipment to process cooked or mixed confections Responsible for sanitation of area, kettles, mixers and equipment. Meet production deadlines, and constantly work on cost control through reduction on raw material and Finished goods losses. Must bring a positive attitude (can do and what can I do to help) to the position. Maintains a positive disposition and attitude when interacting with Asher’s team members. Performs other job-related duties in area of responsibility as assigned. III. Work Environment/ Physical Demands: Employee will perform most job duties in a manufacturing environment that may at times be hot and humid (Above 80 degrees). Must have the ability to consistently lift, stack, push or pull boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. to a height of 5 feet, and pulling a pallet load of up to 770 lbs. The operator must be able to continuously walk, stand and to withstand working in a warehouse with a temperature of 60 degrees – 70 degrees F. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be willing to stand and walk over an eight (8) hour shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. IV. Accountabilities: Responsible to Shift manager and Team lead Must be able to work and interact with all departments in all levels Develops a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment. Constantly keep an eye on quality. Requirements V. Education: High School Diploma/GED VI. Knowledge and Skills: Strong mathematical skills including percentages and ratios Solid oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and organize work. Ability to learn ROSS ERP system for material inventory purposes.
