We have an exciting opportunity for Conference & Banqueting Assistants to join our fantastic Food & Beverage team here at Old Thorns Hotel. We are looking for team members who are passionate about hospitality and will work well within our great conference & banqueting team, providing guests with excellent service and a great event. This role will mainly consist of providing food & beverage services to guests attending our events and weddings or using our meeting rooms.
Working as part of our Conference & Banqueting team, you will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills. You will need to be passionate and knowledgeable about food and beverage and be confident in providing guests with the correct choice. The role will give you the opportunity to learn and develop, with the potential to progress within the company. This is a hands on, operational role and will suit someone who likes working with friendly and hardworking people in a hotel setting.
Old Thorns is a four-star resort in Hampshire. The hotel is easily accessible from the A3, and only 30 minutes from the M25 and Portsmouth. Old Thorns offers a wide range of accommodation, conference & function facilities, health club, beauty spa, restaurants & bars, a championship golf course.
As standard, you will work on a flexible rota, where evenings and weekends will be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Smart personal presentation and polite and friendly manner
  • Passionate about delivering the highest standards of customer care
  • Excellent standards of spoken English
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential
Responsibilities
  • To ensure our guests receive the highest possible standards of service at all times
  • To welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • To assist with set up, food and drink service and clear down after events
  • To ensure cleanliness of work areas is maintained
  • To be fully aware of current liquor licensing laws and ensures that these are strictly adhered to
