Conference and Events Summer Event Assistant POSITION OVERVIEW:  THE CONFERENCE AND EVENTS SUMMER EVENT ASSISTANT WILL SUPPORT THE UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL RESIDENCE HALLS OCCUPIED BY EXTERNAL CLIENTS DURING THE SUMMER EVENT SEASON. THIS ROLE IS ESSENTIAL IN ENSURING A CLEAN, SAFE, AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR GUESTS. SOME OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE INVENTORY TAKING, ORGANIZING SUPPLY CLOSETS, AND EVENT SETUP/TEARDOWN.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES: * Perform thorough cleaning and upkeep of Residence Halls including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors. * Clean kitchens by maintaining ovens, refrigerators, sinks, and other kitchen areas. * Maintain restrooms by cleaning showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors to ensure hygiene standards are met. * Clean bedrooms by making beds and vacuuming carpets and floors. * Wash, dry, and fold laundry efficiently. * Keep accurate inventory of cleaning supplies and room necessities. * Submit maintenance requests promptly for any room repairs or issues identified during cleaning. * Occasionally setup or teardown events.  WORK EXPERIENCE: * Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. * Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. * Must be able to move items like folding tables, stacks of chairs, and other supplies.  * Must be willing to use cleaning equipment and household cleaners like laundry detergent, bathroom cleaners and household cleaners.. * Good organizational skills to manage inventory and maintenance requests. * Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. * Excellent communication skills to report issues and coordinate with event staff. * Occasionally you will interact with outsides guests/clients so effective communication is preferred.   TO BE ELIGIBLE TO BE A CSP STUDENT EMPLOYEE, ONE MUST: * Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).  * Have a United States social security number.* * Have proper identification [https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents] as determined by Form I-9. * Have declared a major at CSP. * Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts. * For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.  *International students who are on a F-1 Visa must obtain an United States social security number: For assistance obtaining a social security number, please contact International Student Services at iss@csp.edu. Responsibilities
The assistant will support the upkeep and maintenance of residence halls by performing cleaning duties, managing inventory, and assisting with event setup and teardown. They are responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for external clients during the summer season.
