THE ROLE:

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who flourishes in fast-paced environments to join our thriving team as a Conference & banqueting porter. The ideal candidate will be fully flexible in the role and be available for both weekday and weekend work. Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel environment is desirable but not essential.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and experience in a four-star hotel. They will be reliable, organised, have excellent customer care, be a good team player and have a natural flair and enthusiasm for dealing with and communicating with people.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Arrange meeting and function rooms according to event specifications
  • Set up tables, chairs, linens, and equipment like projectors or flipcharts
  • Ensure all requested facilities (e.g. refreshments, AV gear) are available
  • Maintain stock of supplies such as napkins, tablecloths, and skirting
  • Keep conference areas tidy and clean before, during, and after events
  • Vacuum carpets, clean surfaces, and ensure public areas (toilets, foyers) are presentable
  • Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly
  • Assist guests with queries or special requests (e.g. placing gifts in rooms)
  • Help with luggage or room service when neededClear rooms quickly after events to prepare for the next function
  • Remove food and beverage items promptly
  • Reset rooms according to the next event’s requirements
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g. housekeeping, catering) to meet event needs
  • Brief incoming porters on upcoming meetings and room setups
  • Attend pre-shift meetings to understand daily tasks and priorities
