Department: Domestic Relations Section  Pay Grade: Union  FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  Position Summary The Conference Officer plays an important role in supporting the mission of the Domestic Relations Section by helping ensure that children and families receive the medical and financial support required by law. This position is responsible for the establishment, enforcement, and advanced management of support cases in a professional, accurate, and timely manner. The work directly supports effective support order processing, collection, and compliance for families in Adams County. Essential Duties - Utilize the PA Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) for case establishment, enforcement, advanced case management, data collection, and processing. - Docket, scan, and file case records.  - Review and process information generated by daily batch updates from PACSES.  - Conduct support conferences with clients and attorneys.  - Obtain acknowledgments and schedule genetic testing to determine paternity.  - Establish and modify orders for child support, spousal support, and APL through fact-finding and application of PA Support Guidelines, or by facilitating agreements between the parties.  - Enforce support orders using collection actions and remedies authorized by local, state, and federal regulations.  - Communicate with clients and attorneys in person, by mail, and by telephone.  - Coordinate scheduling of conferences and court hearings with the Case Management Officer.  - Attend court hearings related to establishment and enforcement of support orders.  - Review support payment activity and authorize payment disbursements.  - Use PACSES home page resources, PA Justice Network, internet sources, and other systems to assist in locating clients and maintaining contact.  - Attend trainings, workshops, and other events related to Domestic Relations operations.  - Provide back-up support for other department functions as needed.  - Assist with mentoring new officers and other assigned duties as experience is gained.  Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. - Degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, Social Work, or related field preferred. - Knowledge of child support procedures, legal terminology, and office practices preferred. - Microsoft Office knowledge required. - Background checks and clearances may be required.
