FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Collects, organizes and interprets data relating to aircraft and product programs.
  • Maintains configuration control of acquisition products and data.
  • Tracks configuration changes.
  • Coordinates and supports development of Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Applies government-instituted processes for documentation, change control management and data management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

At least 10 years of combined experience performing duties described in the functional description

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK(SE), NAVAIRINST 4130.1E and NAVAIR 00-25-300.
  • Knowledge in the application of CM and applicable software required for effective management support.
  • Experience in the use and application of the Enterprise Change Management (ECM) Tool.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS degree from an accredited college

Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description.

Responsibilities

As a Sr. Configuration Management Analyst, you are responsible for providing senor staff recommendations on the program Configuration Management (CM) processes, key metrics, and reporting work priorities. Assist in generating, developing and managing program configuration changes, technical directives (TD), and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs). Apply CM policy to identify, verify, and provide status accounting for configuration items. This position reports to the Program Office CM/DM IPT Lead. These efforts are in support of the E-6B Mercury aircraft that delivers nuclear command, control and communications (NC3) capability for the U.S. Navy’s Take Charge And Move Out (TACAMO) mission. Additional duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish and interpret CM related policy and procedures in accordance with NAVAIR Instructions.
  • Provide decentralized management and control of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Rapid Action Minor Engineering Changes (RAMECs), Technical Directives (TDs), and Major/Critical Deviations.
  • Maintain decentralized metrics files of all configuration management and/or Change Control Board (CCB) actions.
  • Co-chair, operate, and support decentralized Configuration Management (CM) process activities.
  • Analyze modification requirements processes and engineering change actions and review Technical Directives (TDs) to ensure they are correct prior to release to the fleet.
  • Monitor the overall status of the CM efforts.
  • Utilize ECM to Work Flow and process ECPs through CCB approval.
  • Monitor implementation of all CM requirements and ensure that programs are in accordance with current CM plan.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining Configuration Management Plan.
  • Develop Decision Records and CCB Change Packages to include all required NAVAIR 4130 forms.
  • Coordinate and monitor a unique PMA-271 LCCB Gate Process to ensure all requirements are implemented.
