Description Position Overview The Confirmation Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the parish’s 2-year Confirmation preparation program for youth in grades 8 through high school to instill a sense of love and passion for our Catholic faith as the students prepare for this sacrament. Responsibilities Include: Promote and advertise the Confirmation program to parish families and the wider community. Recruit, enroll, and retain students for the Confirmation preparation process. Plan, coordinate and organize Confirmation classes using the Purpose (LifeTeen) curriculum, Parish volunteers, and other approved online materials. Recruit, train, schedule, and support small group mentors. Provide ongoing guidance and resources to mentors to ensure program consistency and effectiveness. Cultivate a sense of love, reverence, and passion for the Catholic faith among students. Track student attendance, participation, and progress throughout the program. Maintain accurate records of sacramental requirements and documentation. Communicate program expectations, schedules, and requirements clearly to parents and guardians. Serve as a liaison between families, parish leadership, and diocesan offices as needed. Foster a safe, respectful, and faith-centered environment for all participants. Uphold and model appropriate professional boundaries when working with teens and families. Demonstrate tact, discretion, and sensitivity in all communications. Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, including Virtus and Safe Environment requirements. Plan and organize Confirmation retreat, service projects, liturgies, and special events including the Confirmation Mass. Participate in parish and diocesan meetings, trainings, and formation opportunities as required. Support bilingual communication (English/Spanish) when applicable. Regularly collaborate with Parish staff, especially those in Religious Education, Youth Ministry and Communications, to develop a robust parish-wide program for the Youth of our Parish. Other duties may be required, as needed. Schedule & Hours Part-time: 20–29 hours per week Required availability on Sundays from 3:30 PM – 7:45 PM Morning office hours 2–4 days per week Requirements Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, or GED required Active, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Demonstrated commitment to Catholic teaching and youth faith formation. Strong interest in and aptitude for working with adolescents (8th grade–high school). Current Virtus (or equivalent Safe Environment) certification, or willingness to obtain. Trained catechist or willingness to complete diocesan catechist certification. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and exercise good judgment. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with teens, parents, volunteers, and parish staff. Basic proficiency with email, word processing, and record-keeping systems. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a flexible, part-time environment. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in youth ministry, religious education, or parish leadership. Familiarity with LifeTeen or similar Catholic youth formation programs.
