Description The Connection Pastor is responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the connection programs involving EMIC congregates from visitation into active and engaged membership and participation. The Connection Pastor also recruits and develops qualified leaders to better help connect visitors and congregates to the church. Collaboration with pastors and leaders within all segments of church demographics is a must. The Connection Pastor maintains a department that operates within budgeted guidelines while focused on growth, assimilation, connection and spiritual growth of the congregation. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: First Time Guests Helps to develop Volunteers and Leaders to assist with first time guests. Meets and greets and establishes contact with guests. Assesses the connection points and needs of first-time guests to include New Believers Class and discipleship. Collaborate with demographic pastors during first time guest meetings after services. Contacts first time guests the following day of visit in order to begin the assimilation process. Tracks and records the various milestones of all visitors to ensure “tailor-made” connection plans are in place. Membership Classes Assists with Volunteers and Leaders during membership classes. Assists with the planning, organizing and execution of membership classes. Collaborates with demographic pastors and MOH leadership for placement of serving opportunities and demographic connection. Tracks and records the various milestones of all new members to ensure connections are made. Follow up and contacts new members on a regular basis. Lapse Reports - Retention Connects with lapsing congregates in order to recover connection. Collaborates with demographic pastors to follow up on lapsing congregate needs. Records and tracks the progress of lapsing congregates to maintain long-term connection. Leadership Development Selects qualified leaders from amongst the congregation to lead. Develop leaders in the areas of servant leadership, group facilitation, discipleship and administration. Maintains leadership development within EMIC standards of leadership direction and covenants. Ministry: Directly ministers to and disciples new and lapsing congregates. As an EMIC minister, ministers to the entire congregation as needed. Focused on fostering relationships and connection amongst the congregation. Available for pulpit teaching as directed. Attend church-wide events and others as required. Connects congregate members into groups and the appropriate demographic ministries. Available for altar ministry. Build relationships with congregate members and visitors before and after services including First Time Guests connections. Administration: Maintains appropriate system records of the assimilation and connection of visitors and new members. Records and communicates trends and comparisons year to year and season to season in a clear, concise and informative manner. Records leadership development meetings and subject matter in files and in MP. Communication Communicates strategy, trends and results to the appropriate EMIC leadership members and team members. Communicates with communications team to report on “what’s working” with marketing to congregation. Utilizes emails, texting and phone calls to stay connected to leaders thusly, keeping them well informed on direction and timing of connection ministry efforts. Leadership Demonstrates the ability to inspire, mentor, and empower individuals and teams to grow in their spiritual gifts and callings. Leads by example with humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart. Creativity: Brings fresh, Spirit-led ideas to planning and execution. Collaboration: Works effectively across departments and ministries, fostering unity and synergy. Build strong relationships with pastors, staff, volunteers, and creative teams to achieve shared goals. Excellence: Pursues the highest standards in musical performance, spiritual leadership, and administrative execution. Demonstrates attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to continual improvement. Foster a culture of collaboration, encouragement, and excellence within the team. Requirements EDUCATION: Minimum of HS Diploma or GED. Ministerial College Degree preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE: Has been in a pastor role a minimum of 2 years Is proficient with computer skills and software tools necessary to manage Clear communicator Ability to manage multiple tasks at once High-level understanding of prayer and Bible Knowledge High-level planner and organizer EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computer, Telephone, Audio Equipment, Printer, Copier, Fax Machine TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones and other office equipment Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Requires excellent hearing and vocal abilities Requires normal range of vision Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to multitask, problem solve and organize, with ability to see the big picture as well as the details, a proactive thinker, a visionary, motivator, decisive and confident WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a fast-paced creative environment including rehearsals, church services and an office environment Must be able to work nights and weekends OTHER: Born again believer and must adhere to this organization's doctrines as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives. Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions Must maintain a good attendance record Membership and attendance at EMIC are required Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills Ability to work with people of all cultures
