THE OPPORTUNITY: INSPIRE, EDUCATE, DOCUMENT, LEAD :

We’re looking for someone passionate about knowledge sharing, who understands the power of well-crafted documentation and training in driving customer success. Your mission? Take the lead in revisiting, improving, and expanding our technical content—ranging from product manuals to video tutorials, hands-on training exercises, and slide decks.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is a strong technical communicator.
  • Understands OPAL-RT’s platforms (or can learn them quickly).
  • Is mission-driven and excited about helping others succeed.
  • Thinks like a power user, even if they’ve never used OPAL-RT tools before.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years in a technical role involving support, training, documentation, or application engineering.
  • Languages: Strong written and spoken English and French. French is mandatory. Good English skills are required for technical documentation and communication with our international users and customers.
  • Mindset: Mission-driven, detail-oriented, creative, and user-focused.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS (ASSETS) :

  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink and real-time simulation tools.
  • Prior experience with technical writing, video production, or online training platforms.
  • Understanding of embedded systems, FPGA, or control systems is a strong plus.
  • Experience working with documentation frameworks (Markdown, Sphinx, Confluence, etc.).
  • Ability to design training exercises and evaluate learning outcomes.
  • Bonus: Ability to create great memes in under 10 seconds.

Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Audit and restructure existing technical documentation, training content, and tutorials.
  • Create clear, modern, and engaging documentation for OPAL-RT users (text, video, interactive content).
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject-matter experts to translate complex concepts into accessible learning materials.
  • Develop and maintain training programs (exercises & slides) for new and existing users.
  • Create video tutorials and short-format explainer content in collaboration with the media team.
  • Help define best practices for internal and external documentation workflows.
  • Own and manage the customer knowledge base, ensuring content is structured, searchable, and always up to date. This includes writing new articles, revising outdated ones, organizing categories, and working closely with support and product teams to surface the most relevant information.
