Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supervisor, Logistics Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination and Efficiency: Working with plant operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective material movement.
  • Logistics Development: Developing logistics flows and sales for inbound moves.
  • Performance Improvement: Identifying ways to enhance service performance and quality.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Producing logistics KPIs and dashboards for alerts and problem-solving.
  • Fleet Management: Achieving optimal allocation of equipment fleets.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolving delays and coordinating changes during material transition.
  • Cost Management: Identifying ways to improve costs, service performance, and quality.
  • Budget Adherence: Helping plants meet specific inbound transportation budgets.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring customer delivery satisfaction.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Working with the logistics sourcing team and global trade team to understand government transportation regulations.
  • Cost optimization: Optimize transportation costs and improve net working capital.
  • Expert Advice: Providing advice as a subject matter expert to the Product Group and other RTP specialists. (oversize loads as an example)
  • Leadership and Coaching: Leading inbound logistics flows, coaching stakeholders, and developing processes.
  • Costing Analysis: Supporting costing analysis for commercial procurement and project teams.
  • Pricing Support: Supporting pricing visibility and competitio

To be successful in this role, you will be expected to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Logistics or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Administration, Engineering, Finance or similar
  • Successfully led logistics initiatives
  • Implemented value-adding innovations and logistics solutions
  • Collaborated and influenced a large group of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge in Customs (import & export)
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken. Rio Tinto is a global company, and the duties of this position require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams or partners based outside Quebe
