Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager – HSES Risk & Assurance, you’ll work across HSES Areas of Expertise (AoEs), Product Groups, and the Risk AoE to embed consistent, effective risk and assurance practices aligned with Integrated Risk Management (IRM). This role offers a great opportunity to broaden your impact, work across multiple functions, and contribute to shaping how we manage risk at Rio Tinto.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the implementation of consistent HSES risk and assurance processes across functions and geographies
Collaborate with the Risk AoE and operational teams to align risk frameworks and reduce duplication
Coordinate 1st and 2nd line assurance planning and execution, ensuring alignment with business needs
Ensure consistent scoping and execution of 2nd line services (enablement, health checks and material risk reviews).
Analyze risk data to inform assurance priorities and drive improvements
Support the development and maintenance of guidance materials and reporting
Promote a culture of proactive risk management
