Fixed-term – 25 May 2026 - 27 November 2026; Full-time 37.5 hours per week Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga (HNZPT) is New Zealand's primary agency for cultural heritage protection and advocacy. Do you have passion and skill to provide effective heritage and conservation advice? The position requires providing expert built heritage conservation advice to HNZPT staff including at our heritage properties, councils, owners and their consultants, developers and other stakeholders, regarding heritage management, and the adaptation of historic places. Travel within the region covering the northern half of the North Island will be involved. The role calls for expertise in building conservation practices and principles, strong understanding of building and construction and the New Zealand Regulatory environment, and heritage assessment. You will also be representing HNZPT in public forums and providing expert evidence from time to time. Candidates also need the ability and confidence to foster strong relationships and negotiate positive outcomes with stakeholders. A qualification and experience in a relevant field of built heritage conservation and/or architectural conservation is required. Applications close at 5pm Friday 27 March 2026.
