CONSERVATION OFFICER

The Capital Stewardship Branch is looking for a Conservation Officer for a temporary position until September 28, 2025, with the possibility of extension and/or indeterminate status. The position is classified as a RÉ-04 ($66,836 to $85,106 per annum).

EDUCATION

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Law Enforcement, in Wildlife protection, in Conservation and Environmental Law Enforcement or in a related field.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in each of the following criteria:

  • Enforcing laws and regulations.
  • Managing, monitoring and protecting properties, buildings, lands or natural resources.
  • Providing public safety services.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of the legal proceedings related to offences.
  • Of the appropriate federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations governing the protection of assets and natural resources.

ABILITIES

  • To stay calm under stressful situations and make sound decisions.
  • To complete detailed reports.
  • To establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • To work alone or in a team with minimal supervision.
