Description

The Gilchrist County Soil and Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for the position of Conservation Technician. This position is responsible for assisting agricultural producers with the enrollment and implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) as established by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). The technician will also assist with FDACS cost-share and outreach programs, support local Water Management District efforts as requested, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture or a related field.
  • Experience in agriculture or natural resources is preferred and may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Annual Salary $42,042.00
  • Must be willing to travel within several local counties (to be determined).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, or other electronic devices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with the public.
